Generations United is pleased to announce the following funding opportunities: **NEW - Multi-Generational & Civic Engagement Project Funding** NCOA's Multi-Generational & Civic Engagement (MGCE) Initiative is pleased to announce an national search for effective local programs that can demonstrate their impact and effectiveness serving one of three target populations (Note: one category is grandparents and other relatives raising children), and engaging older adult volunteers in meaningful direct services as well as administrative, technical or development activities. This Initiative is funded by the Adminstration on Aging with support from the Corporation for National Community Service.  MGCE invites interested local groups to submit a Phase I Concept Paper as the first step in a two step process.  Successful finalist in Phase I will be invited to compete in Phase II.  Up to 24 local groups demonstrating effective and impactful programs and engagement strategies with older adult volunteers will be awarded multi-year funding and will receive two VISTA volunteers to supplement the work of this Initiative. Nearly 200 federal grant opportunities are identified in this extremely valuable online catalog.  The grants are organized into categories - from Abstinence Education to Workfore Development - and include a myriad of other categories such as Elders in Need, HIV/AIDS, and Refugees and Asylees.  The catalog also contains basic information on the federal grants process and answers some frequenly asked questions as well. Though already vast, the catalog is still a work in progress and additional grant opportunities will be added in the future.  The Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives will maintain an up-to-date list on their website, so be sure to visit them regularly for updates and to learn more about this exciting new resource.
